Ohio Quarter Pony Association

The OQPA is a charter club of the National Quarter Pony Association. OQPA is dedicated to the promotion of the Quarter Pony breed in the state of Ohio. Events feature a family-oriented environment including potluck dinners and activities for the kids.  The majority of all funds raised is awarded in prizes to the top places in all OQPA classes at the year end banquet.

Purpose
The purpose of the Ohio Quarter Pony Association is to provide a family oriented organization where we stress sportsmanship, competitiveness, friendliness, and a program which enables all members of a family to show.

Classes We Offer:

• Halter Classes: Weanling, Yearling, Broodmares, Mares, Geldings; & Stallions
• Showmanship & Horsemanship: 9 & Under, 13 & Under, 13-18, 19 & Over, Generation Horsemanship (15 Years Between Riders)
• Beginner's Classes: Leadline 6 & Under, Walk-Trot 9 & Under, Walk-Trot 10 & Over
• Pleasure: 19 & Over, 18 & Under, 56 & Under, Over 56, Jr & Sr
• English: Showmanship, Equitation, Pleasure, & Jumping
• Performance Events: Western Riding, Egg & Spoon, Reining, Trail, Pleasure Driving
• Contesting: Poles, Barrels, Flags, Key-Hole, Down & Back, Barrels & Cones, Speed-Ball, Pylon Alley

What Do We Have For You

• Place for all family members to show
• A place to show your registered Quarter Pony or small Quarter Horses
• Most classes offered are eligible for NQPA & AQPA pts
• Royalty class
• Year-end award banquet & year-end awards

Show Eligibility:

• Any NQPA, or AQPA registered pony is eligible
• Any AQHA registered horse measuring between 48” & 58” after inspection.
• Unregistered Quarter-Type ponies must meet the following guidelines:
  • Pony must measure 48”-58”
  • Pony must exhibit Quarter-Type characteristics
  • Ponies exhibiting Pinto, Paint, Appaloosa, or gaited characteristics are not eligible
  • Must be inspected by two (2) approved inspectors
