Show and Contest General Rules
- Stallions one year and older must be shown by an adult
- All ponies must be registered with NQPA to compete in performance events.Owner must be current NQPA member for points earned to be recorded.
- Exhibitors shall wear a western hat, long sleeve western shirt, and western boots in all classes with the exception of English classes. Contest exhibitors shall wear western attire and a western hat or no hat.
- Halter classes must be shown with western attire and tack.
- No whipping or spurring forward of the girth.
- Approved snaffle bit or bosal may be used on ponies four (4) years and under. Two hands per rules acceptable.
Halter Classes
A pony is eligible to show in only one point earning halter class at each approved show. Points are to be awarded to tentative or permant registered animals in the following classes:
- Weanling fillies
- Yearling fillies
- Two-year old fillies
- Three-year old fillies
- Four-year old and older mares
- Mares 56" & Under
- Mares 56" & Over
- Broodmares - Foaled current year
